Hermann Worthoff
Hermann Worthoff served as head of the Jewish affairs section of the Lublin Gestapo and commander of a liquidation unit. The profile reconstructs the person’s function in Lublin, Majdan Tatarski and Warsaw through documented office, decisions, supervision or operational conduct. It does not assign every crime committed by an institution or region to one individual.

Postwar accountability
Worthoff lived under a false name until 1953. In 1975 the Wiesbaden Regional Court sentenced him to eight years’ imprisonment for assisting in the murder of residents of the Lublin ghetto.

The judgment addressed specified acts and proven forms of assistance. Disputed details of individual shootings are identified as uncertainty rather than presented as established fact.
