Hans Bothmann
Hans Bothmann served as second commandant of the Chełmno killing centre. The profile reconstructs the person’s function in Chełmno and the Wartheland through documented office, decisions, supervision or operational conduct. It does not assign every crime committed by an institution or region to one individual.

- Bothmann replaced Herbert Lange as commandant of the Chełmno killing centre in 1942.
- He commanded the unit during the first period of the centre’s operation and again after its reactivation in 1944.
- Under his command the unit murdered deportees in gas vans and carried out the final killing of prisoners in January 1945.
