Oswald Pohl
Oswald Pohl served as chief of the WVHA and central administrator of SS enterprises and concentration camps. The profile reconstructs the person’s function in SS economic administration and concentration-camp system across occupied Europe through documented office, decisions, supervision or operational conduct. It does not assign every crime committed by an institution or region to one individual.

- Pohl became head of the newly consolidated WVHA in February 1942 after years directing SS finances and administration.
- When the Concentration Camps Inspectorate became WVHA Amtsgruppe D, Pohl oversaw the allocation of prisoners to SS enterprises and armaments industry under lethal forced-labour conditions.
- WVHA construction and financial offices supported camp expansion, including Auschwitz-Birkenau, and processed property taken from people murdered in Operation Reinhard.

Postwar accountability
British forces arrested Pohl in May 1946. An American military tribunal convicted him of war crimes, crimes against humanity and SS membership and sentenced him to death; after review and rejected clemency petitions, he was hanged at Landsberg on 7 June 1951.
